"The Raven"
"Essay"
This story is about a man and a raven. It was a dark midnight; the man was at a desk reading his books. He heard a gentle rapping at his chamber door. It was in the bleak December. It was late when the visitor was entreating entrance at his chamber door he was scared. However, his soul grew stronger, hesitating then no longer. The man was taking a nap, so faintly the raven came tapping at his room door. He opened the door, but there wasn’t anybody. Then he heard the rapping; he opened the door he saw a bird sitting in the top of a status. The raven beguiling his sad fancy into smiling.
This poem expresses sadness, melancholy, mystery, and suspense. This poem has same poetic devices such as assonance, rhyme and repetition. An example of assonance is the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore. The rhymes in this poem are dreary weary, lore, door and more. This poem also has repetition for example darkness there and nothing more, merely this and nothing more and Tis the wind and nothing more.
I think that this poem is very interesting you can learn a lot of things in this poem such as rhyme, and assonance. Also you can learn how to write poems and other great stuff. I think that this story was suspenseful and sad. I think that the raven represent the wife of the author.
