Edgar Allen Poe was an unknown writer who lived from 1809-1849. For a lot of people Poe was the greatest writer. He wrote other story like the murder and other stories. He was a brilliant thinker. He suffers a brain lesion. He drank and used drugs. The drugs make him weakness and made him act crazy. His parents were actors. His father abandons the family. His mother was ill of tuberculosis. When he was five years old they moved to England. There he went to a manner school. He fall in love with a neighbor named Elmira. Also he wrote a poem to Elmira. He left home and quit school, and then he went to live with his real father. He made enemies by writing cruel review about other poets. In 1845 he wroth poem the raven, he was called the raven because he dressed in black.

When he was 27 years old he married his cousin Virginia, she was 13 years old. At 20 she came ill. She died at age 24. After his wife Virginia's death he earned money to support himself and Muddy by writing. He wanted to marry his old girlfriend Elmira because she was rich. A week later they found him dead. He died poor and unknown at age 40.
