Activity #1--Plot

"Of Mice and Men"

This story is about two men named George and Lennie they were hitching a ride to California. They wanted to find a job. They went to a farm. There they found a job. They wanted to make spare money to buy a house with rabbits, chickens, pigs, and other things. But there was a conflict between the two men, Lennie always gets in trouble and George has to look out for him. Curley, the son of the boss, didn't get along with Lennie because he was tall. They had a fight; Lennie cut Curley's left hand with a machine. At the end of the story Lennie kills Curley's wife. Lennie was kind of crazy. He was scared so Lennie went to hide on the brush where George told him to hide when he gets in trouble. George, Curley, and the other guys went after him. Curley was mad, he wanted to kill him. George found Lennie in the brush, they talked for a little while, then George raised the gun and steadied it, and he brought the muzzle of it close to the back of Lennie's head, he pulled the trigger. Lennie jarred, and then settled slowly forward to the sand, and he lay without quivering. George shivered and looked at the gun, and then he threw it from him, back up on the bank. The brush seemed filled with cries and with the sound of running feet. Then Curley and the guys came and then they went to get a drink.

This story happened in California in a farm. This story is told by the third person. The title of the book tells you that men are just like mice that's what the title have to do with the book. In the book the men were homeless just like the mice, that they don't have anybody just each other. I think that's what the title has to do with the book

I didn't enjoy the plot of this story because at the end George kills his best friend. Also because it was a sad ending.
